Yeah - it’s true, it’s been nearly a year since I’ve posted a blog entry here on Bootstrap’d.  In fact, it came just a bit before I took a new job that brought me closer to the tech world, but that came at the cost of some of my free time.  Hopefully now that things are a bit more under control, I’ll be able to post here more often.  Glad to be back, it’s been a long tough year, but I’m looking forward to some exciting things here at Netizen…

Today, Charlie from Oddcast (the creators of Monk-E-mail and Sitepal) announced the launch of their new service, Voki.  Voki is a service that allows you to build a custom avatar that “enables users to express themselves on the web in their own voice using a talking character.”  Think of it like a Nintendo Mii character that you can publish to your website, blog, social network profile, cell phone, IM platform, and more.  With the ability to add your voice by phone, microphone, or by uploading it, it can bring a piece of you to life anywhere on the web.

Thank you JCabana for sharing with us one of the best video clips I’ve seen in a while.  It’s a music video of Alanis Morissette singing Fergie’s “My Humps”, but in a very “Alanis” style.  Getting Slimed.jpgShe hasn’t been this funny since she was getting slimed on “You Can’t Do That On Television”.

Well, after months of insanity, Daisuke Matsuzaka made his first regular season start for the Boston Red Sox.  The hype for this game was just ridiculous, press.jpgas both the American and Japanese media took hold of it and ran and ran and ran.  Cameras have surrounded “Dice-K” (that’s how we Americans spell and pronounce his name) every moment since he’s arrived here.  He’s been heralded as the next great MLB pitcher, who’s wicked hahd stuff would make Pedro look like, well, Hideki Irabu :).  Needless to say, all eyes would be on Matsuzaka today, as he faced the Kansas City Royals.
